I really love the principles behind this quote because Buckminster Fuller frames the future in the way this course has framed it as well. Describing building the future through the lens of a calling to design the future like a cathedral or skyscraper. The only way we can build the future we want to see is if we actively work together, set aside our differences, and find shared purpose and identity. The consequences of leaving the future to be decided by the inherited and antiquated principles of our current time will leave us as victims. We are called as citizens of this world to learn from the mistakes of those who came before us, keep the good, leave the bad, and build a brighter, more sustainable future.
